1 cup vegetable shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
5 cups flour
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 eggs
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 cup cocoa
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, then milk and vanilla a little at a time. Then add dry ingredients and spices. Mix thoroughly. Add nuts, chocolate chips and raisins. Roll batter into balls (dip your fingers in oil to roll cookies because the batter is sticky). Place on a cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 375º for 10 to 15 minutes. When they're cool, you can coat them with regular chocolate frosting.
