1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Grated rind and
juice of one lemon
1/2 cup powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and the sugar. Add eggs and beat well.
Add grated rind. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with the milk.
Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Add lemon juice to the powdered sugar. While bread is still hot, pierce all over with fork tine and brush on lemon juice mixture.
