Gingerbread:
3/4 Cup Margarine
1 Cup White Sugar
1/4 Cup Molasses
2 1/4 Cups Flour
1 Egg
2 Tsp Baking Soda
1/2 Tsp each of cinnamon
Ginger & Cloves


Icing:
1 Tbsp Margarine
1/2 Tsp Vanilla
1 Cup Icing Sugar
2 Tsp Milk
( icing will be runny)

Directions:

Gingerbread:
1- Combine dry ingredients
2- Cream together margarine, sugar, egg and molasses
3- Add dry ingredients
4- Put dough on floured board & knead well.
5- Roll into rope, split in half, and again and again.
6- Roll each piece into a rope approx 7 inches long
7- With rolling pin roll into rectangle about 10in x 4 in
8- Put on cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes only!
( roll on parchment paper, and transfer to cookie sheet)

Icing:
1- Pour icing over warm cookies and cut in strips right away.
2- Cool on rack
