½ pound butter
1 egg yoke
¼ pound powdered sugar (1 cup)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
¾ cup almonds rolled and crushed with skins or 1 cup walnuts broken into small pieces.
2 cups white flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter with powdered sugar and egg together. Add vanilla and nuts. Sift together flour and baking powder and add dry ingredients to wet. Chill for at least 1 hour.

Place dough on lightly flowered board. Pinch off a piece of dough and shape into a crescent. Bake crescents on cookie sheet in hot oven (375 degrees) for 10 minutes or until light golden brown on bottom.

Keep the rest of batter in the fridge until ready to bake.

When slightly cooled, roll cookies in powdered sugar.
