3 cups milk
1/3 pound lard
1/2 cup margarine
6½ cups flour

Directions:
Warm milk, lard and margarine in microwave. Mix together flour, yeast and salt. Pour in the warm milk mixture. Mix in stand mixer on medium until combined.

Mix 5 or 10 minutes on high; then knead in bowl by hand. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and let rise to top of bowl. Put dough on pastry board. Slice in long strips (about 3 to 4 inches wide). May let dough sit before cutting if too soft to handle.

Then slice in triangles and set aside until slightly dry on top and easier to work with. Roll into triangles using a rolling pin. Roll up and put on parchment covered baking sheet. Let rise for about 45 minutes. Brush with a mixture of 1 egg yolk and 2 teaspoons milk. Don’t let mixture run onto parchment as it will burn.

Bake at 350° until lightly browned and baked underneath (about 25 to 30 minutes).
