1 c sugar
1/4 c softened butter
2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla
2 c buttermilk baking mix
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cloves
2/3 c undiluted evaporated milk
2 c finely chopped, peeled green apples
1/2 c chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Beat sugar and butter in large mixing bowl. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla. Stir together buttermilk, baking mix and spices. Alternately beat dry mixture and evaporated milk into egg mixture, beginning and ending with dry mixture. Stir in apples and walnuts. Pour into buttered 9x13" baking pan. Bake in moderate oven (350º) for 45-50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool slightly and cut into bars. Serve warm.
