Ingredients:
Ingredients:
6 cups all purpose flour (preferably Blue Birdİ)
1 1/2 tbsp. baking powder (preferably Clabber Girlİ)
1/2 tbsp. salt
2 1/2 cups water

Directions:
Directions:
Thoroughly mix dry ingredients, by hand, in a large bowl. Then gradually start adding very warm water, (1 1/2 cups), also mixing by hand. As the mixture absorbs the liquid, continue adding remaining water, a little at a time, until a football-size ball of dough forms. Cover dough, allowing to set, about 15 minutes. After dough has set, separate and form into balls a little bigger then golf balls and put on a cookie sheet and cover. While the dough is setting, heat up, on medium-high, 8 oz. of lard or vegetable oil in a deep iron skillet or deep metal pan. To test if oil is sufficiently hot, drop a small piece of dough into the oil and if it comes out golden brown, oil is ready. By hand or rolling pin, shape each ball to a flat round disk and place into hot oil, one at a time, letting each side cook until golden brown. Place vertically in a paper towel lined bowl which will allow excess oil to drip off.

Personal Notes:
I learned this recipe by watching my grandma make them. (This one needs to be practiced over and over to perfect). It goes excellent with stew or drizzled with honey. Put beans and taco toppings on top and make it a Navajo Taco! Enjoy and make it your own!
