Dough:
1 package dry yeast (1 Tablespoon) dissolved in 1 cup water and 1 teaspoon sugar
2 cups scalded milk
1/4 cup cold water
2 Tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon butter or margarine
1 egg, beaten
6 to 7 cups flour

FILLING:
1 head of cabbage
1 chopped onion
salt and pepper to taste
Fry until tender
1 1/2 pounds of ground beef 1 onion chopped
salt and pepper to taste
Fry until cooked

Prepare the cabbage and ground beef mixture then mix them together and let cool completely.
Soften yeast in warm water. Combine milk,sugar,butter or margarine and salt. Cool to lukewarm, then add the beaten egg,cold water and yeast mixture. Add flour to make a soft dough. Knead until smooth and satiny, about 8 minutes. Shape into a ball, place in a greased bowl and cover. Let rise until double in size. Roll out dough and cut into 3 to 4 inch squares. Place 3 to 4 Tablespoons of the cabbage mixture in center of each square. Bring up sides and pinch together to form sealed bun. Let rise 10 t0 15 minutes. Bake at 350º for 20 to 30 minutes .

You can also use just cabbage in these buns. If you make a mixture of chopped pepperoni,mushrooms, green pepper, onion, spice and shredded mozzarella cheese mixed with tomato paste you can make pizza buns.
