Directions:Dissolve yeast in warm water in large bowl. Add sugar, salt, margarine and 2 1/2 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in rest of flour to make soft dough. Knead 5-6 minutes. Place in oiled bowl and turn over so top shows oil. Cover and let rise till doubled. About 45 minutes.
Punch down dough, divide in half. Roll 1/2 to 14x10." Slice corned beef thinly and place slices down the center leaving the two sides uncovered. Spread dressing over beef then put slices of cheese over that and then sauerkraut over that. With scissors or pizza cutter make cuts from filling to edge 1" apart down sides. Alternating sides, fold strip over filling which forms a braid.
Place on greased baking sheet and repeat with other half. Let rise until doubled (no more) about 45 minutes. Brush with egg and bake in 400 degree oven for about 25 minutes. Allow 15 minutes before slicing.
Refrigerate leftovers and reheat to serve. |
