1/2 pound ground beef
1/4 cup minced onion
1/4 cup chopped green onion
5 1/2 ounce can tomato paste
2 cups water
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
8 or 9 manicotti shells
1 cup ricotta cheese or dry curd cottage cheese
1/2 pound shredded mozzarella cheese
1 egg

Directions:
Saute meat onions and green pepper.Drain off the fat. Add tomato paste water salt, pepper sugar and italian seasoning. Simmer about 2 hours. Partially boil manicotta shells in salted water for about 4 minutes. Drain in colander. Combine ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese and egg .Fill shells using a small spoon. Place shells in shallow baking pan (8 x 11 inch) . Cover with sauce and bake covered in a 350º F. oven for 20 minutes. Remove cover and bake another 20 minutes.
