8 pounds (4 kg ) pork spareribs
1 can cherry pie filling
2 Tablespoons canola oil
1/2 cup onion
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 Tablespoons spicy brown mustard
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Directions:
Cut ribs into serving portions of two or three ribs each. Put ribs into a large saucepan or dutch oven; add salted water to cover ribs. Simmer, covered 45 to 50 minutes until tender. Drain ribs and set aside.
Puree pie filling in electric blender or food processor and set aside. In a large skillet add onion and cook until tender. Add pureed cherry pie filling, soy sauce, mustard, ginger, Worcestershire sauce and mix well. Simmer, uncovered, 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Reserve some of the cherry sauce to serve with the cooked ribs.
Place ribs on grill over low heat. Turn ribs about 4 times, brushing frequently with remaining cherry sauce. Cook 25 minutes or until done. Discard any sauce used to baste meat. Serve ribs with reserved sauce.
