3 c flour
2 tsp. cream of tarter
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c shortening (part butter)
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, cream of tarter, soda, and salt. Cut in shortening.
Mix in separate bowl: eggs, vanilla, and sugar.
Mix the two mixtures together. Chill dough several hours or overnight.
Roll dough out to 1/4 inch think or thinner. (A little thinker makes softer cookies.) Cut with cookie cutters. Places on greased cookie sheet (or use parchment paper).
Bake at 350 degrees F. for 10 to 12 minutes.
