2pkgs active dry yeast
5 cups unsifted flour
1 T. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. water
2 cups milk
Cornmeal
Grease 2 GLASS loaf pans; sprinkle with cornmeal
Combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt & soda
In Microwave: Heat water & milk on high for 2 minutes- add to dry ingredients & beat well.
Add remaining 2 cups flour. Stir.
Batter will be stiff and a little sticky.
Divide batter into 2 pans. Sprinkle with cornmeal & cover with linen cloth.
Let Rise in warm place 45-60 minutes.
Microwave on high for 3 1/2 minutes. Turn 1/2 turn and resume for another 3 1/2 minutes. (if microwave has turn table, no turning is necessary)
Let cool on rack. Can be frozen. Should be refrigerated.
