Ingredients: Oreo cookies Pancake batter (any kid will do, or make it from scratch) Vegetable oil for frying

Directions: |
Directions:Heat the vegetable oil in a saucepan - you'll need it to be a few inches deep for deep-frying. Dip an Oreo cookie into the pancake batter, then deep-fry it in the hot oil. Watch them carefully; they won't take long to turn golden and cook all the way through. Remove the cookie from the hot oil, wait until it's cool enough to handle, and then eat it before anyone else can. Use the hot saucepan to fend off anyone going after your cookies. |

Notes: Jason got this recipe while chaperoning a mission trip to the Pine Ridge (S.D.) Indian Reservation for our church. Apparently, they're a mission-trip traditional-breakfast-food-thingy. Although if you ask me, folks going on a mission trip really should not be indulging in these little blobs of Oreo-filled sinfulness. Or if they do, they should be downing them with a hefty side of good ol' Catholic guilt.
