1 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sifted confectioners' sugar
1 egg
2 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. pecans, chopped
1/2 c. chopped candied fruit or citron
1 c. whole candied cherries, or any kind of candied fruits

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar together; beat in the egg. Stir in dry ingredients; blend in pecans, fruit and cherries. Form in rolls 1 1/2 inch in diameter. Wrap in Saran Wrap; freeze. Heat oven to 375 º . Remove cookie rolls from freezer and slice very thinly. Place on greased baking sheet. Bake 6-8 min, or until lightly browned.

Mom always made these at Christmas. I did not like the citron and candied fruit in them, but they were pretty.
