1 cup raisins
2 cups quick cooking oatmeal
1 tsp. baking soda
2 cups flour
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup sugar
¾ cup shortening
11 Tbsp. raisin juice
2 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Cover raisins with water and cook until tender. Let cool in the juice. Sift and measure flour. Add soda, cinnamon, and salt. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs in one at a time, beating well after each. Drain raisins and preserve juice. Add raisin juice and mix. Slowly beat in flour mixture. Add oatmeal. Gently fold in raisins. Drop by teaspoonful onto cookie sheet.
Bake 10 to 15 minutes. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
