3/4 cup Crisco
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
3/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda in 2 tbsp hot water
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup chocolate chips
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º F. Spray cookie sheets with non-stick spray or line with parchment paper.

Cream Crisco and sugars. Add eggs. Dissolve baking soda in hot water and add to sugar mixture. Mix well. Add vanilla and salt. Stir in flour and then chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls onto prepared cookies sheets. Bake at 325º for 12 - 18 minutes, depending on the size of your cookies. Remove to rack for cooling.
