2 T. butter
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 large onion
2 tsp. chili powder
1tsp. salt
1 1/2 cup elbow macaroni (uncooked)
1 16oz. can dark red kidney beans
1 16 oz. can good tomato (roma, for example)
1 10 3/4 oz. condensed tomato soup.

Day before: In large skillet saute beef in hot butter with onion, chili powder, salt and pepper. (to taste). Cook macaroni. Then stir in kidney beans, tomato, and tomato soup. Put in casserole dish. Cover and put in fridge.

About 1 hour and 30 minutes before serving start oven at 400º. Bake in casserole dish, covered for 1 hour and ten minutes. Remove from oven and let stand 5-10 minutes before serving.

This dish was often served with the Sunday Fridge Rolls. It is great because you make everything the day before. Keeps Sunday peaceful, as it should be.

Additional note by Dad: This recipe was in Mom's file also and she had noted "favorite of Dan and Greta".
