Large “ripe” cucumbers
2 c. vinegar
3 c. water
2 c. white sugar
1 c. br. sugar
¾ c. vinegar

Directions:
Peel and cut out inside of cucumbers. Soak in salt water overnight. Next morning boil in vinegar and water. Heat sugar, brown sugar, and vinegar. Pour over pickles and let stand over night. Next morning heat again, can, and seal.

This recipe is for nostalgia only. Grandma Minnie Zoutendam always made these. I can’t even recall how they tasted or if I like them but they were a frequent offer on our table when we visited Grandma and Aunt Mary.
