½ lb. ground beef
1 tsp. sugar
1 lb. sausage
1 tsp. salt
⅔ c. shortening
1 egg
½ tsp. allspice
1 tsp. salt
½ c. water
1 tsp. baking powder
¼ c. oatmeal
milk (enough to blend together)
1 ½ c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix beef, sausage, salt, allspice, water, and oatmeal. Form into “pigs” like wieners, form on waxed paper. Mix other ingredients as a pie crust. Roll out ¼ of dough at a time. Cut into rectangular squares, large enough to roll around the “pigs”. Pinch to seal open edge and ends. Bake in shallow pan 20 -30 minutes at 350º. (for variations see “sausage biscuits")
