⅓ c. vinegar
1 chopped onion
⅓ c. sugar
1 T. flour
1 ˝ c. water
˝ T. salt
˝ lb. bacon, (cut into small pieces)
˝ T. dry mustard
3-4 lg. potatoes
˝ T. celery seed
˝ c. chopped green onions, greens and all

Directions:
Directions:
The day before serving, peel and cook potatoes. Slice them and chill in refrigerator.

Fry bacon pieces. Remove from grease. Sauté onions in grease and add flour. Add vinegar and water mixture slowly and add salt, mustard, celery seed. Add sugar. Salt and pepper to taste. Add cooled, precooked potatoes onion, and bacon. Simmer a little while.

Mother Z (Grandma K) frequently made this when I was young. Martha also made it. Later, it became available in cans in grocery stores. It wasn't quite as good as the "homemade" but it sure was handier.
