8 cups green tomatoes
8 cups onions
2 cups vinegar
2 ½ cup sugar
2 c. tbsp pickling spices
1/4 cup coarse salt

Directions:
Directions:
Slice tomatoes and onions add salt and drain overnight.
Bring to boil in vinegar and sugar with spices in a small cotton bag or in a tea ball. Simmer until onions are transparent.
Fill Mason jars while preparation is boiling. Close jars and cool.

I drain all this in an old pillow case.
