1 c soft butter
1 c oil
1 c sugar
1 c powdered sugar
2 eggs
4 ½ c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 ½ tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter, oil and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla.

Combine dry ingredients and mix well with sugars.

Chill dough overnight. Roll into walnut size balls placing 2 inches apart on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Press ball flat with glass dipped in sugar.

Bake in a 350 F oven for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly brown.

Every year at Christmas time, my grandma made these delicious cookies. She made them exclusively during Christmas time! I have fond memories of sneaking them out of the tin at her house as a little girl. Enjoy!
