1/2 cup sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg yolk, slightly beaten
1 can (1 pound, 4 oz) crushed pineapple
4 cups unsifted flour
1 tsp. sugar
1 package Fleischmann's Active Dry Yeast
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1 cup margarine
4 egg yolks (at room temperature)
Confectioners sugar frosting

Combine 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch and salt in saucepan. Stir in egg yolk and undrained pineapple. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Cool.
Combine 1 1/2 cup flour, 1 tsp. sugar and undissolved yeast. Heat liquids and margarine to 120º-130ºF. Add to dry ingredients; beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Add 4 yolks and 1/2 cup flour. Beat on high for 2 minutes. Stir in enough flour to make a soft dough. Divide in half. Roll each half on a floured board to fit a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch pan. Put one layer in ungreased pan. Spread with filling. Top with remaining layer. Seal edges. Snip surface of dough. Cover; let rise or until doubled, about 1 hour. Bake at 375º about 34-40 minutes or until done. Cool in pan. Frost while warm with Confectioners sugar frosting.
