1½ Cups Stewing Beef
½ Cup flour
2 Tbsp oil
1 Bay Leaf
1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 Onion chopped
1 Cup Beef Stock
1 Tbsp Sugar
Salt and Pepper to taste
6 Carrots
1 Cup Celery, sliced
4 Potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 Onions, peeled and quartered
1 med Turnip, peeled and quartered
4 Cups water

Directions:
Directions:
Cut beef in 1 1/2 in cubes. Peel and slice carrots and turnips. Coat meat with flour, setting excess aside. In a large skillet heat oil, brown meat on all sides. In large stew pot combine all vegetables, browned beef and seasonings. Pour water over all and cook on low for 2-3 hours on stove or oven at 325º for 2 hours.
