1 1/2 C. powdered sugar
1 tsp. almond extract
1 C. butter or margarine
1 tsp. cream of tartar
2 1/2 C. flour
1 egg

Frosting:
3 C. powdered sugar, 1/2 C. softened butter or margarine, 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla, 2 T. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º.

Mix cookie dough ingredients and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Roll and cut shapes if desired. Bake for 7 - 8 minutes.
Frosting: Mix sugar and butter. Stir in vanilla and milk. Beat until spreading consistency. Add a drop or 2 of red food coloring. Mix and frost. You can also sprinkle plain or colored sugar crystals on top of frosting while frosting is soft.
