4 c, small bread cubes (1/2 inch)
1/2 c. butter, melted
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. salt
3/4 c. brown sugar, packed firmly
4 c. cooking apples, peeled and quartered

Mix bread cubes with butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and brown sugar. Arrange in alternate layers with apples in casserole dish. Cover and cook at 350 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours until apples are tender. Serve. Makes 4 - 5 servings.
