1 c. flour
1/2 c, butter
2 T. water

1 tsp. almond extract

3 eggs.

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the first three ingredients as you would for pie crust. Divide in half. Pat out on a cookie sheet in two strips 12 x 3" (approx..) 3 " apart on the same cookie sheet. For the topping: Bring the water and butter to a rolling boil, add almond extract. Remove from heat and stir in flour immediately. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat until smooth after each addition. Spread mixture on top of crust layer and bake at 375 degrees for about 45 minutes. Don't open the oven during the baking time. When it cools a little, top with a powdered sugar icing and sprinkle with sliced almonds or other nuts, if desired. To serve, cut in crosswise strips.
