1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup boiling water
4 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together the flour and salt.

Melt the shortening in the boiling water. Place over heat and add the dry ingredients all at once. Stir constantly until the mixture leaves the side of the pan. Cool 1 minute.

Add 4 eggs - one at a time - beat until well mixed. Drop by spoonful 1-1/2" apart on cookie sheet.

Bake at 450F for 10 minutes. Lower heat to 400F and bake for 25 minutes more.

After the puffs cool, cut in half and fill with cream and dust with powdered sugar.
