1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 lb butter
1/4 lb margarine
1 lb dates
1 lb seeded very large black raisins
1 1/2 lbs seedless dark raisins
1 lb currants
1/2 cups glazed cherries (red or green)
1 1/2 cups walnuts
1/2 can cut peel (don't know what this is, and recipe suggests to skip it)
1/2 cup sour milk
1 1/4 tsp baking soda
Dash or shake of cloves, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, pinch of salt
6 eggs
3/4 cup molasses
Flour to make thick...start with 1 3/4 cups and add more if needed

Mix in the order given.
Put in pans lined with brown paper and wax paper. Cakes do not rise, so fill as deep as desired height of cake.
Bake at 250F until done (when dry spaghetti noodle comes out clean)
