4oz (100g) butter
2oz (50g) sugar
5 oz (150g) flour
1 level tsp. baking powder
1 level tsp. ginger

For the icing:
4 level tblsp. icing sugar
2 oz (50g) butter
1 tsp. ginger
3 tsp. golden syrup

Directions:
Directions:
Beat the butter and sugar together, sift in the dry ingredients and mix well.
Press into an ungreased tin and bake at 335F for 40 minutes - 'til golden.

Icing:
Melt the butter and mix in the icing sugar, ginger and golden syrup
Pour over the shortbread while it is still hot.
Cut into squares while the shortbread is still hot/warm and leave to cool in the tin.
