1 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300 F.

Cream butter, brown sugar, egg yolk and vanilla until fluffy, approximately 15 minutes.

Slowly add flour. Roll to 1/4 inch thick. Cut into shapes. Bake 18-20 minutes on an ungreased pan.

OR

Put dough into 9" square cake or pie pan. Bake 30-35 minutes. Cut into wedges after baked.

This is Gramma Emily Nixon's mother's recipe. When I make this recipe I imagine a lady making the exact same recipe for her family over a hundred years ago!
