2 c. raisins
1 c. water

1 c. shortening
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla

4 c. flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp allspice
2 tsp salt

Directions:
Boil raisins and water together for 5 min. Cool slightly. Cream together shortening and sugar. add eggs and vanilla. Add water from the raisins. Mix together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Add raisins. Bake at 400º F for 8-10 min
