1 1/2 cups crisco
5 eggs - room temperature
3 cups plain flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
3 cups sugar
1 1/4 cups milk
1/8 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs one at a time.

Measure flour, baking powder and salt (sift flour mixture 6 times).

Alternate adding flour and milk to sugar mixture, add vanilla last.

Spoon batter into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Got recipe from Sammie Jean Campbell while in rad tech school. She would occasionally surprised us with treats. Her pound cake was delicious.
