2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. oatmeal (I like steel cut oats)
1/2 c. flaxseed meal
1/2 c. toasted wheatgerm

1 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. granulated [white] sugar
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract or scotch whiskey
2 eggs
2 c (12-oz pkg) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1 c. chopped nuts (walnuts/ pecans)

Directions:

COMBINE flour, baking soda, salt, oatmeal, flaxseed meal, and wheatgerm in a small bowl. BEAT butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition; gradually mix in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tbl. onto ungreased baking sheets. BAKE in preheated 375º oven for 9 to 11 min. or until golden brown. Let stand for 2 min; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Serve with ice cold milk! Enjoy!
