1 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons lemon juice
2 eggs
1/4 cup ground pecans
1/4 cup grated orange peel
Powdered Sugar

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º. Grease 2 baking sheets. Sift together flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, baking soda, pepper, and cloves. Beat together butter and sugar. Stir in lemon juice. Beat in eggs. Beat in flour mixture. Stir in nuts and orange peel. Drop batter by rounded teaspoonfuls onto prepared sheets, 2 inches apart.
Bake until edges are golden, 10-12 minutes. Cool completely. Dust cookies with powdered sugar. Makes 3 dozen cookies.
