Ingredients:	Ingredients: 1 cup butter 1 cup white sugar 2 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla extract 3 1/2 cups flour 2 tsp. baking powder lemon zest grated from 1 lemon

Directions:	Directions: Beat butter until smooth. Beat in sugar, vanilla, eggs and lemon zest. Add dry indredients. Mix until well blended. Form into a ball, wrap with saran wrap and chill for about 30 minutes or longer. On a lightly floured board, roll dough out to about 1/4" thick. Using a 3" heart-shaped cookie cutter (or cookie cutter of your choice), cut out 24 hearts. In 12 of the hearts, cut out a small heart-shaped hole, using a 1" cookie cutter. Place on parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Bake at 350º for about 8 minutes, just until edges have turned a very light golden colour. Transfer to wire rack and let completely cool. Spread jam on the 12 cookies with out the holes. Sift the cut-out cookies with powdered sugar and place on top of cookies with jam.
