4 c flour
1 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
½ t salt
¼ t nutmeg
1 c sugar
1 c lt brown sugar
1 c butter
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, powder, soda, salt, and nutmeg. Thoroughly mix in sugars. Cut in butter until particles are fine. Beat eggs with vanilla; add to four mixture and mix with fork to smooth dough. Chill several hours or overnight. Divide dough into several portions. Work with one portion at a time, keeping remainder refrigerated. On floured surface, roll dough to 1/8” thickness. Cut out with floured 2” round cutter. Put scant amount of filling on center on half of circles. Top each with plain circle. With tines of floured fork, press edges to seal. Cut a vent on top. Bake at 375 for 10-12 mins.

Filling:
Mix together ¾ c sugar and 1 T cornstarch. In small saucepan, heat 1 c water and 2 c seedless raisins to boiling. Add sugar mixture and boil gently, stirring until liquid is clear and slightly thickened and raisins are plumped. Cool, then stir in 1 tsp vanilla.
