1/2 cup syrup
2 eggs, beaten
1/3 cup cocoa
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 3/4 cup flour
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
pinch of salt
1 cup milk

Bake in moderate over in layer tins. Put together with jam between layers, and ice as desired.
