6 tbsp butter or margarine
2 eggs, well beaten
1 cup white sugar
grated rind of one lemon
1 ½ cup flour
1 ½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Beat sugar & butter until fluffy. Add egg. Bake 1 hour at 350˚F. Mix juice & sugar & let sit & dissolve while loaf is baked.

Bring to a boil: juice of one lemon, 1/3 cup white sugar.

Cool a bit, then pour topping over hot loaf. This freezes well.
