1 c sugar
3 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 c soft margarine or butter
2 eggs
3 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and margarine or butter like pie crust. In a 2 c measuring cup beat together the eggs, milk and vanilla. Make a well in the dry mixture and add the wet ingredients. Mix thoroughly and make a large ball.
May be a little sticky so flour your hands to handle. Divide in half and roll out to 1/4 inch. Cut with cookie cutters of your choice. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 10 - 12 minutes, do not let them brown. Cool and then ice.
