Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup butter
1 cup pure maple syrup
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda (omit if using cookie stamp)
1/3 cup sugar (for rolling cookies in)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix wet ingredients then add dry. Leave out the baking soda if you are using a maple leaf cookie stamp as it holds the pattern better without leavening. Roll into one inch balls then roll in sugar. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet and flatten with cookie stamp or bottom of a glass if you don't have a stamp. Bake at 350 º for 10 minutes.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Made with the syrup I harvest from my backyard maple tree in the Spring makes these cookies extra special. These along with my maple fudge and a small can of home grown maple syrup are going in gift baskets for my four sisters this Christmas.
