1 piece of venison
1-2 large onion - peeled and sliced
1-2 large potatoes- peeled and sliced

for gravy
1 tbsp lard or shortening
1/2- 3/4 cup flour
cold water
salt
pepper

Pie crust
2 cup flour
1/2 cup lard
water

Directions:
Directions:
Slice venison very thin place in large well greased pan. Add a layer of onion and a layer of peeled and sliced potatoes them another layer of sliced meat. In a large cast iron frying pan put a tbsp of lard or shortening melt then add 1/2 cup - 3/4 cup flour, Add salt and pepper to taste. Stir until flour browns add cold water and stir fast ( make enough to cover meat in pan, then add crust)

Pie crust
Add 2 cups flour and 1/2 cup lard together mix well then add enough water to make a good paste after you work the lard into flour. Roll out and cover the pie.
Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours. Serve with bannock with wild berries for dessert!!
