1 1/2 cup lukewarm water
1 tbsp. melted butter
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. dry yeast
3 tbsp. sugar
4 cups flour, unsifted
sesame seeds, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Soften yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. combine 1 cup warm water, salt, melted butter. Add softened yeast and stir in 1 1/2 cups flour. Blend well. mix in rest of flour and knead until smooth. Place in lightly greased bowl, cover and let rise until double in bulk, about 1 hr. and 15 . Turn out on lightly floured surface. Roll into 12X15 rectangle. Roll up tightly beginning on long side, taper ends. Place on greased baking sheet, seam side down. With sharp knife gash tops diagonally, every 2 1/2" 1/4" deep. Sprinkle with water. Let rise until double in bulk about 1 hour. Sprinkle with water again before baking. Bake at 375º about 45 minutes. Makes 1 large or 2 small loaves. Bake until it sounds hollow when you tap the tops.
Can sprinkle with sesame seeds right before you put in the oven.
