pinto beans
water
garlic cloves
bacon grease or lard
flour

Directions:

Rinse and clean pinto beans. Be sure there are no rocks in the beans. Put in Crockpot. Cover entirely in hot water. Add 2 or 3 garlic cloves. Cook on high for 5 hours.

After the beans have cooked, melt bacon grease or lard in a small sauce pan. Add a couple tablespoons of flour and brown. Salt and pepper to taste. Take some water from the beans and mix with the browned flour until smooth. Pour into Crockpot and mix well. Cover and continue cooking for 20-30 minutes.
