4 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 T. caraway seed
1/4 lb. butter
2 cups raisins
1 1/3 cup buttermilk (may use more if needed)
1 egg, slightly beaten

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, baking soda. Stir in caraway seed. Cut in butter. Add raisins.

Combine buttermilk and egg. Blend into flour mixture.

Turn out into a 6"-8" well greased oven-safe skillet. Cut a 4" cross in the top that is about 1/2" deep.

Bake at 350º for 60-70 minutes.
