1 (175 gram) bag -----------------Old Dutch Popcorn Twists
1/2 cup ------------------------------- Butter
1 cup ---------------------------------- Brown sugar
1/2 cup -------------------------------- Corn syrup
2 tsp. ----------------------------------- Pure vanilla extract
1 tsp. ----------------------------------- Baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Place popcorn twists in a large roaster pan; set aside.

In a 2-quart saucepan bring to a boil, the butter, brown sugar, corn syrup. Cook for 2 minutes.

Add baking soda, this will foam up and the mixture will thicken slightly. Allow the foam to cook down slightly; remove from heat.

Add vanilla and stir

Pour caramel mixture over the popcorn twists and stir until well mixed.

Bake in a preheated 250º oven for 45 minutes. Stirring at least every 10 to 15 minutes.

Remove from oven and spread on a large sheet pan covered with parchment or waxed paper. Allow to cool,

When cool break apart any large clumps.

Stores well in any large container with a tight fitting lid.

Yield about 3 quarts of candied popcorn twists
