2 1/4 C sifted flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 C shortening (not oil)
1 C sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 T milk
Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Cream shortening and sugar together, add eggs and vanilla. Add sifted ingredients and milk. Roll & cut. Bake @ 375º - 10-12 minutes. When cool, ice them.

THIS IS CAROLYN'S FAMOUS SUGAR COOKIE.
DO NOT OVERBAKE THESE COOKIES. THEY WILL BE SOFT WHEN THEY COME OUT OF THE OVEN. BEST SUGAR COOKIE RECIPE EVER. FOUND IT IN 1920 COOKBOOK.
