1/4 cup starter
1 cup flour
1 cup water
1 cup flour
1/4 cup dry powdered milk
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 T. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
NIGHT BEFORE: Mix starter, 1 cup flour, 1 cup water. Let stand overnight in a warm place.
MORNING: Add 1 cup flour, powdered milk, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Mix together and knead well. Add more flour to make a soft dough (approximately 1/2 cup). Let rise until doubled in bulk. Shape into scones and drop into hot oil. Fry until brown; turn and brown other side.

These are great as the bread of an Indian Taco. Top with beans (or chili), lettuce, cheese, sour cream, etc.
