3/4 c.butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg & 1 yolk
1 c. chopped nuts
1c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter; add sugar and eggs. Beat hard. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Add to first mixture. Mix well. Add nuts and vanilla. Spread into two greased layer cake pans. Spread on the top one egg white (that has been beaten to a froth), 1 1/2 c. brown sugar and 1 tsp.vanilla that has been beaten to a mud like consistency. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cut into squares and let cool.
